The game of blackjack favors the dealer; if both you and the dealer bust (i.e., exceed 21), you lose. Still many people win money at the 21 tables, and there are as many experts on the subject as there are people willing to listen to them. If you want to prolong your ride at the table, the following elementary rules may prove useful.
1. Always Use Basic Strategy
It is highly recommended that you always use blackjack basic strategy. If you are not familiar with basic strategy, read our strategy article linked above. If you aren't using basic strategy you can't expect to be a winning blackjack player. Basic strategy is the first tool a blackjack player should master before approaching the tables.
2. Scout the Tables and Players
It is highly recommended that you scout the blackjack tables and the players at the tables, before picking a table to play at. Carefully observe the area and be selective about the table you sit at. You don't want to end up sitting at a blackjack table full of drunken players, slow players, etc. Always make sure the last player at the table seems to have a knowledge of the game. If he or she seems like a very inexperienced player, it's probably best to move on because this player will cause you lots of money in the long run.
3. Never Take Insurance, Unless Card Counting
It is recommended that you never take insurance at the blackjack table unless you are an experienced card counter. Taking insurance just benefits the casino and new players will often take insurance every time it is offered to them. You are losing extra money in the long run by taking insurance so stay completely clear of it unless you're counting cards.

4. Manage Your Money Wisely
It is very important to manage your blackjack money wisely. It is recommended that you never sit down at a blackjack table where the minimum bet is 5% or more, of your total playing money. You simply won't have enough money to play in this game so try to find a lower limit game. Always make sure to stay within your limits. If you can't learn to properly manage your money and bankroll, you can never become a serious blackjack player.
5. Tip the Dealer
Most players have conflicting thoughts on tipping the dealer. We recommend that you tip the dealer during the game to keep the game friendly and to keep the dealer on your side. You should tip the dealer consistently while he deals you both good hands and bad hands. Keep in mind the dealer can't change the outcome of the cards. Most dealers aren't paid a very large wage and rely on tips to support themselves.

Below is other tips
1.Never split your 10s
2.Always split your Aces and 8s, regardless of what card the dealer is showing
3.Unless you are counting cards, never take insurance
4.You should stand on a hard 13 through 16, but only if the card the dealer is showing is a 6 or lower. If the dealer’s 5.showing card is a 7 through an Ace, you should hit.
6.If the dealer is showing a 4, 5 or a 6, you should stand on a hard 12.
7.If the dealer’s showing card is a 2 or a 3, or 7 and higher, you should hit a hard 12.
8.You should continue to hit until you have at least 17 if the dealer’s up card is a 10.
9.You should hit a soft 17 if the dealer’s up card is a 10.
